- What is a SPID?
The NetNumber ENUM Client SDK is an API and set of tools that enable C and Java developers to quickly integrate both ENUM and extended DNS capabilities into their application server platforms.
The SDK is licensed with full source code for both Java and C.
The Java SDK will support JVM versions 1.2 and above and has been tested under Red Hat Linux ES 3.0, Sun Solaris 8 and 9, and Win32 based OS.
The C SDK will support most operating systems with a POSIX compliant TCP/UDP stack. It has been tested and provides make environments for Red Hat Linux and Sun Solaris using the gcc compiler. It has also been tested in MS Windows.
Yes, NetNumber provides both an evaluation version of our NetNumber TITAN Server software and access to a hosted TITAN Server for assistance in SDK development work.

A SPID or Service Provider ID is either a 4 digit or 6 digit alphanumeric value that represents a telecommunications provider. NetNumber offers two different SPID services:
NPAC - SPID: Returns a 4 digit alphanumeric value based on either the NPAC Service Provider ID for numbers that are open for porting or an OCN for numbers that are not open for porting. Under this service a service provider can have multiple SPIDs assigned to them.
NetNumber - SPID: Returns a 6 digit alphanumeric value that is assigned by NetNumber. Under this service each service provider has only 1 SPID assigned to them and therefore, the company integrating with the NetNumber service does not have to manage multiple SPIDs per interconnect partner.
